Simply titled THE CHICKEN COOKBOOK by Beverlee Sias, copyright 1969 by South Brunswick and New York: A S Barnes and Company, London: Thomas Yoseloff Ltd. Thick hardbound, no dj, with black cloth covers measures 5-3/4” x 8-1/2” x almost 2” thick, weighs almost 2-pounds, with 590 pages, including preface, epilogue and index, in very good condition. Please don’t let covers cosmetic appearance put you off ... the rubs or soiling is enhanced by the scanner’s bright light ... and, you will never find a more complete chicken cookbook!

But, the author, in her Preface, I quote:

This is by no means an all-inclusive collection of chicken recipes. I have tried to be selective in choosing only those recipes that seemed to me characteristic of each country and region, and those which I considered the best. Possibly I should have included more recipes than I have to make a complete book on chicken but since the ways of preparing chicken are virtually endless I am afraid it would have been a rather overwhelming volume in both size and content. There are hundreds, or even thousands, of recipes for ordinary chicken dishes in standard cookbooks, in women’s magazines, in the columns of home economists, but these were not the recipes I wanted for my book. I wanted recipes that were not only authentic but excitingly different and delicious. I hope I have weeded out all the run-of-the-mill kind, and that this book is a representative collection of the most delectable chicken dishes enjoyed by everyone around the world.

Condition: Very Good. It appears the book was never used! Pages are clean, no tears or chips, no writing, no dog-ears, all pages intact. Covers and pages are tight; hinges and joints show no weakness, no webbing exposure ... surprising because of the book’s bulky 1-pound 14-ounces weight! Only blemish is a couple rubs or spots on covers, but even the corners are square and not bumped or rubbed, and there is no edgewear! See how much costlier others are selling this book!
