Very scarce "Night Scene at Ginza" Japanese Woodblock Print by Shiro Kasamatsu

Offered here is a superb, pre-war, woodblock print by Kasamatsu Shiro, entitled "Night Scene at Ginza, Tokyo." Oban format measuring 14-3/8 x 9-7/16 inches on a sheet with irregular edges measuring (approximately), 15-1/8 x 10-1/4 inches, and published April, 1934, by Shozaburo Watanabe. "D" seal in left margin used 1931-1941. Artist signature and seals in bottom right of image.


CONDITION: A printer's crease at the top near center from left extends about 1 inch into the image. Excellent, evenly distributed coloring. The print appears to have never been under a mat. It is tipped onto the backing at the top corners. An old label is affixed to the acid free backing. Overall, this item is in near pristine condition.
