This is the miniature ACEO version of the larger "Red Badger - South" print. The ACEO prints have the description printed on the on the back: "The Red Badger was inspired by Zuni Indian fetish animals. The Red Badger is guardian of the direction South. South is associated with the element Fire symbolized here by red chili peppers, the volcano in the background, and by its alchemical symbol, an upright pyramid . The South is also associated with the season Summer, the time of day high noon, and the Fire element zodiac signs which are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius." As in the larger prints, volcanic sparks and lava are hand painted with gold metallic paint, so no two prints are the same.
The title of the piece and date it was created (June 2009) are also printed on the back. They are also hand signed on the back and on the front and hand numbered on the back. This is #4 of 32.
This ACEO (which stands for Art Cards, Editions & Originals) measures the standard 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and is printed on acid free card stock. The ghosted watermark does not appear on the actual print.
