This is the miniature ACEO version of the larger "Black Bear - West" print. The ACEO prints have the description printed on the on the back: "The Black Bear was inspired by Zuni Indian fetish animals. The Black Bear is guardian of the direction West. West is associated with the element Water symbolized here by the sea in the background and by its alchemical symbol, an inverted pyramid. The West is also associated with the season Autumn, the time of day twilight or sunset, and the Water element zodiac signs which are Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces." As in the larger prints, stars are hand painted with gold metallic paint, so no two prints are the same.
The title of the piece and date it was created (June 2009) are also printed on the back. They are also hand signed on the back and on the front and hand numbered on the back. This is #4 of 32.
