As I live only a block from my local post office, I prefer:
USPS Media Mail for books and records and other media,
USPS Priority Mail for just about everything else to US addresses when speed is needed,
USPS Parcel Post for when cheaper is better than speed, and
USPS Airmail Letter Post to international addresses.
