BIOGRAPHY:

Alex Perez was born in Santiago, Chile. He is the Fourth generation in a family of Artists. Alex studied at his father's studio, Painter "Eduardo Perez", who was Ibero-Chilean.

Alex Perez's familiarity with art history, his interest in general history and archaeology, his love of music (his uncle was "Victor Tevah" the conductor of the Nacional Simphony Orquest of Chile, and Chilean National Prize winner) and love of landscapes, as well as his curiosity of how "natural substances and changes over time have shaped external appearance", have all been integrated into his artistic techniques.

His works of Art range from “Abstract Conceptualization”, to “Symbolic Interpretations”, to “Neo-Impressionistic Landscapes”.

Alex Perez creates, using a number of techniques: oils, acrylics, drawing, engraving, murals, stained glass painting, sculpture in stone, and so forth.

He is a member of “The Painters & Sculptors Association of Israel”, an Adviser & Curator of Art at “The Yad LeBanim House”.

His works are in private and public collections in Israel, the United States, Europe, South America and Japan.

He is the offspring of Jews exiled from Spain by the Inquisition in 1492. His life has been enriched by the cultures of the West from early childhood, complemented by that of the Middle East. He feels that this dual exposure grants him cultural advantage that he must utilize.

Among his other activities, he lectures on the history of painting. In this field, which for him is not only a profession but also a hobby, he created the largest collection of slides (over 5000) on the subject of Art History in Israel.

From 1964 to 1977 he lived in Israel in a Kibbutz. From 1977 to 1981 he worked in Tel Aviv. In 1981 he moved to Rishon Letzion, where he now lives and has a studio.
