McHale's Navy: Ahoy! Thunderbirds: Based on the cult British television show from the 1960s, THUNDERBIRDS explodes into the 21st Century with this thrilling live-action version of the franchise. Drawing on similar themes and familiar characters, director Jonathan Frakes (STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT) sticks closely to the spirit of the original show while making use of the new technology available to him 40 years after the program first aired to give the film a modern look. The International Rescue organization--a team of highly organized law enforcers--is the focal point for the movie. International Rescue is based on a remote desert island location, and is called into action whenever the world's sinister masterminds threaten to disturb the balance of society. Jeff Tracy (Bill Paxton) heads up the team, and employs his sons to help him out. Teenager Alan Tracy (Brady Corbet) is a little too young to join, and is constantly frustrated by his lack of opportunity to join the brothers on their missions. But when the evil villain known as The Hood (Ben Kingsley) traps the International Rescue team in outer space, it seems Alan's time has come. The Hood steals one of the many spacecrafts designed by International Rescue, and executes an outlandish scheme to rob the Bank of England. Alan and his pal Fermat (Soren Fulton) attempt the double-whammy of rescuing the trapped family and stopping The Hood, by drawing on help from the sultry detective Lady Penelope (Sophia Myles), her butler Parker (Ron Cook), and a few gadgets and vehicles courtesy of International Rescue. With comic references to the original show scattered liberally throughout the movie, and a sense of fun and adventure, this is a film that should appeal to both old and new fans of these popular crime-fighting characters.

Josie & the Pussycats: Josie (Rachel Leigh Cook), Melody (Tara Reid), and Val (Rosario Dawson) are the Pussycats, a struggling rock band hoping for success in the fast-paced music world. Their dreams seem to be coming true when a record producer (Alan C******) suddenly signs them up to become the newest number one band in the country, without even listening to their music. Before they can think twice, the girls are made over, given glamorous clothing, and besieged by hordes of trend-worshipping fans, but soon Josie and the gang begin to realize that their music is part of an evil scheme run by MegaRecords executive Fiona (Parker Posey) to control the world by planting subliminal messages in the music of prepackaged, manufactured pop groups. When the Pussycats learn the truth, Fiona will do anything to keep them from getting in the way of her ultimate plan. JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS roars into the new millennium with a dead-on satire of the modern culture of pop music and merchandising (including the fictional group Du Jour, an hilarious parody of boy bands). Simultaneously, JOSIE presents a trio of bubbly but tough female heroes who sound as good as they look, with songs produced by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. The film is a live action interpretation of the comic book from Archie Comics that became a popular animated television series in the 1980s.

The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle: A wild and wacky pun-filled cross-country romp, THE ADVENTURES OF ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE is a cinematic journey worthy of its television predecessor. Using cutting-edge technology in combining animation with live action, director Des McAnuff has created an eye-popping thrill ride littered with ridiculous, silly jokes that are probably making Bullwinkle creator Jay Ward roll around in his grave in laughter--and pride. A stellar cast, including Robert De Niro (Fearless Leader), Jason Alexander (Boris Badenov), Rene Russo (Natasha Fatale), Piper Perabo (FBI Agent Karen Sympathy), and Randy Quaid, keeps tongues firmly in cheek as they do battle over RBTV--Really Bad TV. June Foray wonderfully reprises her television role as Rocky, while Keith Scott does a fine job providing the voice for both Bullwinkle and the Narrator. This self-referential film lampoons elements of the road movie, the courtroom drama, the FBI thriller, the prison drama, and dozens of other Hollywood staples and cliches. Along the way Rocky and Bullwinkle meet up with the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Carl Reiner, David Alan Grier, Don Novello, Janeane Garofalo, John Goodman, and Jonathan Winters in a series of comic mishaps reminiscent of IT'S A MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD.
