The stein on the left is made in West Germany and is embossed with barrels and a sleeping man being tickled with a feather by another.
Reads:
Wer viel Bier trinkt schläft gut,
wer gut schläft sündigt nicht,
und wer nicht sündigt,
kommt in den Himmel.
He who drinks a lot of beer sleeps well,
he who sleeps well does not sin,
and he who does not sin,
gets to heaven.
The mustache stein is made in Japan and shows 3 colorful men with large mustaches drinking together. The opposite side shows a red roofed building in a forest. Someone has scratched out most of the word "Japan" on the bottom. There is also a name in script lightly etched in the glaze on the bottom. (See pics)
Both steins measure approximately 4 1/2" high and have no chips, cracks or crazing!
