An old USA 90% silver vintage coin from 1893 Columbian Exposition
This is a very nice collectible coin and is in excellent condition.
Approximately 1.55 million of these were minted in the Philadelphia mint in 1893.
This coin has over 0.36 troy ozs of silver.

These coins were the first USA Commemorative coins!
The coin was minted to raise money for the Columbian Expo, and to mark the 400th year Anniversary of the discovery of America by Columbus. The reverse is the Santa Maria, the design was by GT Morgan, and the front was designed by Charles E. Barber. These coins were minted from 1892 and 1893, and were sold for $1.00.
