Pearls of Great Price - The Arabian Horses of Bahrain, Part II, by Judith and Donald Forbis
"Two of the most famous strains on Bahrain today are the Dahman and Jellabi families. This is the second part of an excellent article with some terrific old photos.

  1. JELLABI age 14, head stallion at Sakhir
  2. A group of Sheikh Isa's mares at Sakhir, the palace of the late Sheikh Hamad
  3. Old specklet Jellabi, sire of Krushan and all of the most beautiful speckled mares. Amazingly this photo was taken at age 34, and he died at age 38.
  4. Old Jellabi I, the ledest of the Jellabi breeding stallions, at Raffa, the stable at Sheikh Isa's Palace.
  5. An old chestnut Jellbiyah sired by Dahman I, stabled at Riffa.
  6. Jellabiyah, one of the mot beautiful mares of this strain, poses with Hasan Bin Salah Al Ruway'i at the abandoned palcce of Sheikh Hamad. Sired by the old specklet Jellabi and out of a Jellabiyah mare.

An interesting side note: Among the National and Resv. National Champions the following have close-up lines to this Jellabi family: FADJUR, LEWISFIELD BOLD HAWK, HAJABABA, IBN FADJUR, SYNBAD, DANCING FLAME, HIGH FASHION AND LALLEGRA

Arabian Horse Registry of America - Classification of Horses by States and Provinces.  A listing of registered Arabian horse by state and province as of June 20, 1970.  Interesting statistics

Scottsdale 1971 Show Champions,  photos by Johnny Johnson
*Ibn Moniet El Nefoud, Dalia, Ghaz Robal, *Nihal, Mikado Baychatka and others.

Champion Producing Broodmare Families, by Gladys Brown Edwards.
"When tracing the various female lines to which American champions trace, it seems an imposible task.  However they do trace back to a comparatively few sources and some are surprisingly related - surprisingly in that they are founded, as to branches - in various countries.  Excellent article.
