GIUSEPPE ARMANI MASTERWORK sculpture “AURORA” 680-C in EXCELLENT Condition with Original Box, certificate of authenticity, paperwork and original receipt. Limited edition – #180 of 1,500 worldwide (probably less than that left worldwide). Year of introduction: 1995. Made in Italy.
“Aurora” is the FIRST of Armani's Masterworks and the favorite. This is Armani's interpretation of the mythological figure “Aurora” crossing the sky in a two wheeled chariot pulled by the majestic white winged horse Pegasus.
Giuseppe Armani was an Italian Master Sculpture and considered an artistic genius. He was voted “Artist of the Year” in 1996 by the NALED. Among the activities of his life, Giuseppe presented a one-of-a-kind sculpture of Madonna with Child and Young Saint John to Pope John Paul II and 'Wild Hearts” to President Bill Clinton who displayed the sculpture in the oval office.
In 1998 Armani received the “Award of Excellence” for THIS Masterwork from the NALED. This is a large sculpture - see measurements below.
Giuseppe Armani died “suddenly on Saturday, the 28th of October 2006, in consequence of a massive stroke” – (10 years ago).
Some of this edition have been offered on the secondary market in damaged or repaired conditions – and/or missing box and/or documentation.
This was bought on a pre-order (I ordered it before it became available – hence the low number). It has been displayed only for a very – VERY short time. The dealer I ordered it through naturally unpacked it (for inspection purposes) and had it on display while we were in transit to pick it up from him (fastest unpacking in the west!), and naturally I had to admire it and show my friends and family for a few days when I got it home before safely packing it away to await our move here. Unfortunately, as plans go, I've not been able to display it here as I had hoped – as we do not have the room, so it has remained packed away.
I didn't remove it from the box for this listing, instead as seen in the photos I lifted the protective top Styrofoam and photographed from within and outside the plastic coverings to make sure to preserve this in EXCELLENT condition.
Measures approximately 22 inches tall by 24 inches wide and 10 inches in depth.
The box measures approximately 31 ¾ inches by 25 inches across the top by 16 ½ inches in depth and is complete with the original form fitted Styrofoam inserts and the protective plastic coverings that came with it.
