item note: Harper & Brothers, New York 1861. 3/4 Leather bound. Moroccan red leather.Gold gilt embossed spines and boards. Marbled board and end papers. Gold gilt top edge. Sewn in silk ribbon place holder in all volumes. Complete 3 volume set. All volumes have corner and edge wear. The boards have some surface wear on the marbling. The top edges of the spines are chipped. Volumes one and three being more chipped than two. Volume three also has a small chip on the lower edge of spine. There is a book plate in each volume from the previous owner. No real foxing to speak of, just the very page edges are slightly browning.
