Japanese Larch
Larix kaempferi

Native to Japan this deciduous conifer tree has a straight trunk accented by
nice soft needles. Grown for the weathered looking, rust brown bark that is
reddish-brown, rugged and furrowed, showing nicely in the winter. Form varies
from one tree to the next making it perfect for bonsai culture. Foliage turns a brilliant
yellow in the fall for a short time but long enough to make nice show. 1 1/2-inch-long
upright cones are clustered along the branches, making a terrific display throughout the year.
The tree makes a great all purpose tree and is excellent as a standard outdoor tree of container plant.

Larch should be grown in rich, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Keep moist and place in full sun to
part shade. Perfect for Bonsai culture. Hardy outdoors to zone 5. Start seed in standard potting mix or bonsai soil.

Seed is a live product which depends on many important grower skills such as proper planting time,
seed depth, type of soil, watering, light intensity, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides,
insecticides, soil conditions, and reasonable weather during the growing period.
These factors are totally out of the sellers control, and germination and growing results are the buyer's responsibility and risk
