Red Ames was a consistent, solid starting pitcher during the first two (2) decades of the twentieth century. Ames won 183 ballgames while maintaining an impressive career ERA of just 2.63. Red was a two-time World Series Champion with the New York Giants in 1904 and 1905, helping that team to win those back-to-back World Series with 22 wins in 1905.
