Such a cute piece this is. It was made in 1998 as you see on the brass star hanging from one of the babies arms. Later on the star and ribbon was removed. This indicated to collectors then that the piece was limited to only ONE YEAR and would not be available like this any longer. The piece was distributed through PARKVIEW CATALOG RETAILERS only and not to a regular DP56 dealer. The item you see was an the limited edition piece, and to nobody else that year could have it. The next year, the regular piece was introduced...this one you see was retired, and the newer one was sold as described above. This has not been used but the box has shelf and storage wear.
