Fenton Painted "White Daisies on Custard" Medallion Bell
Circa Late 1970's to early 1980's
I believe this was made from about 1975 to about 1981, however, I don't think Martha Reynolds was working there until later on in the 1970's and of course into the 1980's time frame. That is the reasoning behind the dates I give above.
This was a very popular bell. First, unlike another bell made about the same time that has darker daisies decorated on it, this is actually what Fenton called CUSTARD glass. The other was done on a more brown colored glass called CAMEO. The coloring of this is much lighter than Cameo was, with a greenish, yellowish coloring to the glass. Yes, it will glow green under a black light. The bell is about 7 inches tall and about 3-1/2 inches wide at the base.
This bell is signed by renowned Designer and Decorator, M. Reynolds. Her work that is personally signed and done by her is rare on any item that she worked on in the Fenton factory before she left in early 2000 There are no chips-cracks-or repairs, however please keep in mind this is not new and has been displayed for at least the last 30 years.
