NEW WWF WWE WRESTLING VHS BEST OF SURVIVOR SERIES 1987-1997

You are buying a BRAND NEW, FACTORY SEALED VHS wrestling video, WWF (World Wrestling Federation) Best of Survivor Series.

Narrated by Michael Cole, this video highlights the WWF's annual Thanksgiving time tradition.

Beginning with the very first at the Richfield Coliseum in 1987 with Hulk Hogan and his team against Andre the Giant and his team.

Other notable firsts in this history of the Survivor Series includes the debut of The Undertaker in 1990, and Kane's wrestling debut against Mankind in 1997.

Of course, in 1997, there was the famous "Survivor Series Screwjob" where Vince McMahon ordered the referee in the Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels title bout to ring the bell early, claiming Hart had submitted, when he actually did not. The feature film, Hitman Hart Wrestling With Shadows (available from us) would detail Bret's side of the controversey.

Several famous matches in this ten-year retrospective of the Survivor Series include Undertaker's challenge of Hulk Hogan one year after his debut, at Survivor Series 1991; Bret Hart taking on Bob Backlund for the WWF Championship, held by Hart and Undertaker's casket match with Yokozuna, both at Survivor Series 1994; & Bret Hart's return to the WWF at Survivor Series 1996, where he would take on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a grudge match. A portion of this match is also documented in Wrestling With Shadows.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin's hatred of the Hart family extended beyond Bret to his late brother, Owen, when Austin would face him in a grudge match for the WWF InterContinental Championship held by Hart in 1997. Speaking of hatred against the Hart family, or at least Bret Hart, 1997 was not the only time he met up with Shawn Michaels, as Bret, Owen, Keith & Bruce Hart take on Shawn Michaels and his team in 1994 that sees Owen turn against his own brother! Of course, Shawn was not always "The Show-Stopper", and we get to see his early development as one half of the Rockers tag team with Marty Jannety from 1989.

The motto of the Survivor Series, however, always was "Where Teams of Five Strive To Survive", and while there have been outstanding singles matches, the Survivor Series has always been about teams, and here are the teams:

  • The Warriors (led by Captain Ultimate Warrior) vs. The Heenan Family (led by none other than Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) from Survivor Series 1989

  • And The Million Dollar team (captained by "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase vs. "The Dream Team, led by "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (from Survivor Series 1990)

  • Plus other memorable matches from the team competiton!

  • Other notable singles matches include Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Goldust (from Survivor Series 1995) and Mankind vs. The Undertaker (from Survivor Series 1996)

Extra footage includes Bret Hart destroying the ringside area after the legitimate double cross in the ring at Survivor Series 1997 (a moment that WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) clearly enjoys since they continue to bring it up both on videos and in their storylines) and the following night on the WWF's flagship program, Monday Night RAW, where WWF owner Vince McMahon is interviewed by Jim Ross and offers the famous "Bret screwed Bret" line in defence of his pre-planned double cross of the man who had been a loyal employee for 14 years.
