THIS ITEM SOLD. Heavy wove paper in Mezzotint, stipple and line engraving as well as some etching. The image with lettering measures about 14.25 x 10 inches with sheet measuring 17.75 x 14 inches. This rare print is a proof state, so indicated by the word "proof" etched in the plate in bottom left corner of margin. This print is existent in the Library of Congress Collection.

CONDITION: (Being sold without frame)

a rich, clear and beautifully inked impression. Several creases appear in the image but no tears, holes or paper loss. The area of bottom margin showing title and justification does have some paper loss and tears.

Sheet is soiled, heavily toned from time, has water stains along margins, (mostly left side and bottom), two tears in bottom margin area, numerous rabbit skin glue spots all around margins and small paper loss at area of left bottom tear.

This proof state print, in fine condition, would have a fair market value of about $3,500 to $4,000.00. Non proof, later states of this print in good condition retail for around $1,200.00 to $1,500.00. This print can be fully restored for about $600.00 and I would be happy to give buyer the name of two of the finest restorers I know of.
