Gently washed and ready to be used. This antique shade /globe attaches in the center hole by a regular electrical ceiling light box that has a threaded rod. You can see the hole in the middle. The best thing is to go to HD or Lowes or hardware store and if you do not have the ceiling box that attaches to the ceiling needed to hang shade they do have what you would need and they are inexpensive and they will be able to help you on how to use ..........

It is a gorgeous light globe.
