This listing is for a vintage Native American turquoise pendant. The pendant has a nice weight for its size. The stone in the pendant is a pretty shade of light sky blue, with some dark brown matrix along the sides of the stone. The matrix is a pretty dark chocolate brown, not black like it looks in the photo. The stone is a nice large size, and is prominent in the pendant. It is not flat in the setting; it is rounded, and rises above it. The stone has a nice sheen to it, but is not overly shiny. There are no cracks in the stone. The setting is nicely done around the shape of the stone. I don?t know how to describe it, and assume it won?t be picked up in the photo. This really is a nice vintage piece, although I notice it does not look attractive in the photo. The setting is kind of like a twisted hand formed area that folds over to the front. It is very pretty and unique. I have never seen a setting like this before. The part of the setting directly around the pendant has a black tone to it, and the outside part is the normal silver color. There is a weird thing stuck on the bottom of the pendant. It looks really tacky and out of place. The rest of the pendant is so classy, and nice, that this thing on the bottom makes no sense to me. I was going to have it cut off, and never got around to it. The pendant would look great with that bottom thing removed. The pendant is not signed, and is not stamped for metal content, but it was sold to me as sterling silver, and certainly does appear to be that. However, the bale looks like it might not be sterling, as it has a kind of copperish hue to it. This is a very nice and unique piece, in my opinion. The pendant measures approximately 1 and 7/16 of an inch long, not including the bale, and approximately 1 and 1/16 of an inch across, at it?s widest part. Since I have had this, I have never worn, or polished it. Please check my other listings, as I have quite a few Native American pieces listed, and will have several other pieces coming.
