This is a wrap type skirt. It fastens with leather buckles on one side, and velcro on the other. The fit can be adjusted on this skirt, by the velcro strip, and as there are several holes in each of the two leather buckles that fasten the skirt closed.
The center front of the skirt is not pleated. The pleats start at the sides of the skirt, and then they continue on the back. The pleats are stitched down for the first approximately 6 inches or so. The front side edge of the skirt has a frayed edge and fastens with two silver toned buckles that buckle into black leather straps. The frayed edge continues all the way down to the hem of the skirt.
The fabric is wool. The label does have the woolmark symbol on it. The colors of the plaid are different, and beautiful.
This skirt does not look like it has been worn much, if at all.
Please note that there is a small flaw in the fabric. There is a little nub of fabric that is near the leather fastening straps. I am not sure whether it could be cut off or not, or pulled through to the back of the fabric. The fabric nub can be seen in the photo of the closeup of the leather straps, as well as in the photo after the photo showing the size tag on the kilt label. Please take note of this and do not bid if it is a concern.
