Ayer's Ague Cure, Lowell Mass. Victorian Trade Card

Ayer's Ague Cure, Lowell Massachusetts. Antique Lithographed Victorian Advertising Trade Card. Depicts a man and woman in Latin American colonial costumes in a jungle setting. Advertising on back: "Ayer's Ague Cure neutralizes the malarial poison... Dr. J.C. Ayer & Co., Lowell, Mass." Looks like it might have been trimmed at the top; measures 2-3/4 by 3-3/4 inches. Slight damage on left edge of face side; moderate surface paper peeling on the reverse.

This item is an original card from a late-nineteenth century scrapbook. The image, printed by color lithography, is a chromolithograph, or "chromo."
