Where There's Smoke by Sandra Brown (1994)

This book is in like new condition. It was read only once before being placed up for sale. There is a very slight crease in the spine from the single reading but you have to look really close to see it. It certainly doesn’t detract from the book. This book is in great condition for an 11 year old paperback book!

Please note, the picture attached is that of a stock photo. The cover of my paperback is cream with a picture of a bird of paradise flower on it. I just want everyone to know the cover is different but its still the same great story.

Please check my other ads for additional books by some other New York Times Best Seller authors. Please check back often as I have many books that I am going to place up for sale.

1. Synopsis
Blackballed in the medical profession following her adulterous affair with Clark Tackett, rising young star of the Senate, Dr Lara Mallory has no place to go. When Clark dies in a drowning incident, Lara discovers that he provided for her by purchasing a medical office in Eden Pass, Texas. Everything would be perfect if only Eden Pass weren't Clark's hometown, a place where she is already a pariah. Her medical practice limps along from lack of patients until Lara gets one big one--Key, the Tackett's prodigal son, who unwittingly walked into her office by chance. In addition to fending off Jody Tackett, the matriarch who loathes her, Lara must fight her growing attraction to Key and satisfy her need to know the truth behind the series of deaths that followed the scandal.

Publisher's Note
The phenomenal Sandra Brown weaves intrigue and mystery into the latest and most suspenseful of her 13 NYT bestsellers since 1990. Set against the background of a Texas oil empire. Dr. Lara Mallory takes over a medical practice left to her by a scion of the oil dynasty--a recent suicide. To offset community hostility, Lara seeks help from a man who may do her more harm than good. Advertising ties in with Brown's simultaneous new hardcover release, Charade.
