After it break it's dormancy March-April - it will be potted in soil and will be shipped in small plastic container with soil. Plant will be trimmed to the size of the shipping box 22 inches if it outgrows it during the summer.
Found scattered statewide, usually in low wet woods and wooded valleys. Does well in full sun on a wide variety of sites. Thorns are often absent on this species. White flower clusters appear in May. Leaves are dark-green. The bright-red berries, eaten by birds and mammals, persist well into the winter.
