The second volume from Ultimate Athlete, which publishes Ultimate Athlete magazine. The group is dedicated to all sports and is in search of the "ultimate athlete".
In The Gathering, 14 Mixed Martial Arts fighters step into the ring to fight for personal and professional glory! Although some fighters are making their professional mixed martial arts debut on the card, many fighters are veterans of other fight organisations, such as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) property World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) and King of the Cage (KOTC), where many UFC fighters got their start. Many came from the K-1 organisation.
This event features a setup similar to early Ultimate Fighting Championship events, with individual entrance music, and a laser light show, but also makes its own mark with a live DJ!
Similar to the (now defunct) International Fight League (IFL) promotion (which at the time of this event, didn't exist yet), within the fights, two separate camps of fighters would fight each other in the Welterweight Division, the Lightweight Division, and the Middleweight Division for team supremacy. For this card, the Next Generation would be challenging the American Kickboxing Academy. In order, those bouts would be:
- Pat Minihan (Next Generation) vs. Adam Lynn (American Kickboxing Academy)
- Rich Crunkilton (Next Generation) vs. Bao Quach (American Kickboxing Academy)
and
- Eric Duus (Next Generation) vs. Mike Guymon (American Kickboxing Academy)
There is also a preliminary lightweight match that features Cole Escovedo vs. Jay Valencia.
The main card features the following contests:
- In light heavyweight action, Roman Roytberg takes on Andre Walker
- In middleweight action, easily the best fight on the card, Dennis Hallman battles Buck Greer
- In the main event, two heavyweight brawlers go at it, as Rick Slaton takes on big Leo Pavlushkin!
DVD and case are both in excellent condition from private collection.
