The creator of Iron Man, Stan "The Man" Lee, provides a brand new introduction to this classic Marvel Comics video, featuring episodes from the 1966 animated series of classic Marvel comics characters, which included Thor, Sub-Mariner, Hulk, Spider-Man and others!
Lee's introduction covers the theory behind the creation of Iron Man, and he also discusses his co-collaborator, the legendary Jack "King" Kirby as he eagerly introduces another character, which, in the Mighty Marvel tradition, sets out to shatter any stereotypes (a rich, handsome industrialist who manufactures munitions for the Vietnam war).
Of course, like all Marvel characters, this one would also have a flaw. In the case of Iron Man, his alter ego, millionaire Tony Stark, had a weak and injured heart that required his Iron Man armor's chest plate to keep his heart beating after shrapnel from a Viet Cong boobytrap entered it.
In this video, two Iron Man episodes are included. In "The Death of Tony Stark", Iron Man's old foe, The Mandarin decides he wants to eliminate both Stark and his "bodyguard" Iron Man as a step toward his ultimate goal of world conquest. (Stark protects his secret by publicly claiming Iron Man is his personal bodyguard).
In "The Crimson Dynamo", Tony Stark is preparing to test a new weapon as The Gremlin unleashes the giant Soviet robot, The Crimson Dynamo, in an effort to destroy Iron Man!
