A little about Lladrό……

The name Lladrό has become synonymous with the finest in porcelain art throughout the world. The dream of the Lladrό brothers has not only become a reality, but a legend.

Juan, Jose and Vicente started their small studio in 1951. They originated the elongated look, so reminiscent of El Greco, in porcelain sculpture, hand painted with a palette of pastel colors that have proven so popular with Lladrό Collectors. Today, the Lladrό complex located in history Valencia on the Mediterranean in eastern Spain, is known as “Porcelain City”. Here they create the finest quality porcelain sculpture ranging from modestly priced pieces for the beginning collector to exquisite major works of art of museum quality. Lladrό has never been able to fully meet the demand for its figurines. In spite of ever increasing production, the demand always far exceeds the ability of the studios to keep pace.

This is an extremely lovely Lladro figurine entitled “Bashful.” She was issued in 1978 and retired in 1997. She comes with a glossy finish, stands 9 ¾” tall and comes in mint condition with no chips, nicks, cracks, repairs or any signs of wear. There is one very small manufacturing mark near the bottom of her dress as shown….certainly nothing that detracts. The initials P.W.C. and Amsterdam are printed on the bottom. She has the full tulip mark on the bottom as shown and is simply a must have for any Lladro collector. I have several Lladro figurines listed so please check them out.
