This listing is for a stunning crystal knife rest that dates from the American Brilliant Period in excellent condition. Circa 1890. I can feel a few very tiny rough spots with my fingernail but NOT with my fingertips.
The middle has panel cuts with ends having convex cuts. All of the cuts have notched prisms on the edges. The flat ends have a single star cut.
Approx: 5 ¼ inches long. The knob ends are 6 inches around.
This item is glossy clean without stains / discoloration and ready to use or display. NO cracks or repairs.
I do have another knife rest that has the same pattern but it does have small small chips possibly from resting on a table or washed. They have to be searched out in the light and are not easy to spot.
