This vintage souvenir plate was part of a well-loved collection of travel souvenirs. I believe it dates from the 1940s or possibly 1950s. It is a souvenir of the state of Vermont and was made by Sabin.
It has intricate and detailed 22kt. gold floral filigree all around its rim. On the back it has the Sabin mark in gold of an "S" in a painter's palette. It has the words "Warranted 22K" and "Made In U.S.A."
On the front inside the gold rim it says "Vermont" in red letters and "The Green Mountain State". It has multi-colored illustrations of The State Flag of Vermont, Historical Monument Bennington Battle Monument, The State Bird The Hermit Thrush, The State Flower Red Clover, Sugar Producing State, Dairying, Old Covered Bridge, Famous For Vivid Fall Colors, Revolutionary Marker, and Ski Center of The East. There is also a silhouette of the State of Vermont. Each scene has gorgeous vivid colors and lots of fine details.
The plate measures 9 5/16 inches in diameter. It is highly glazed and shows slight crazing to be expected in a piece of this age. There are no cracks, chips, hairlines, or other issues. It is in wonderful condition.
