SEALED NEW - GARAGE / JAZZ / ROCK

Benoit Martiny formed his band after being asked to record an album for a new promising label in Luxembourg called Waltzing-Parke Records. Having worked mostly as a sideman this came as a great challenge as, apart from playing, Benoit now also had to compose!! It was easy to put a band together as Benoit had a clear idea of a musical concept: some sort of swing with lots of distorted guitars. All that was missing was songs. So after a few months of writing and rehearsing, an album was recorded with Roby Glod and Maxime Bender (LU) on horns, Sandor Kem (Hun) on double-bass, Jerome Hol (NL) on electric guitar and Benoit on drums. Some concerts came after that, like an appearance at the dutch jazz competition in Amsterdam s Bimhuis and a concert at Jazzland festival in Nagjkanisza, Hungary. Since then the horn line-up changed 3 times but is nowadays perfectly completed with Daniele Martini (IT) on tenor sax and Jasper van Damme (NL) on alto and so the band is alive and rocking!! All the bandmembers met at the conservatory in Rotterdam, the Netherlands where they also studied! Although they all come from different countries they find together to jazz and roll.
