Please note that this is a vintage ex-library book. This listing is for a vintage hardcover book, entitled Recreations of a Literary Man. The book was written by Percy Fitzgerald. The title page of this book says: ‘Recreations of a Literary Man or Does Writing Pay? By Percy Fitzgerald In Two Volumes Vol.II London Chatto and Windus, Piccadilly 1882.’ The book has 262 pages, and then another section follows which has 32 pages, which lists books published by Chatto and Windus. This book has an odor to it, which I can’t identify. It isn’t smoke, and doesn’t seem to be a musty smell. Please take note of this and do not bid if it is a concern. This is an ex-library book. Inside the front of the book, it has papers pasted on each side. One says City Library Association Circulating Department. The other is a sign out sheet, which is totally blank. Evidently no one signed this book out. The title page has little holes cut out on it, which states City Library, and gives the town and state. There is also a seal in the paper as well as a written in number. The next pages also have written in numbers on them. The first page of the book has both the little holes cut out on it, which states City Library, and gives the town and state, a seal in the paper as well as a written in number. The first page looks like it has some dirty areas on it. The book spine has two stickers on it, one saying ‘stack’ and one with a number on it. The book cover has some wear and pressure marks on it. There is heavy wear to the corners of the book. The corners are worn through, and the underneath part is showing. The top front corner has a chunk out of it. The top back corner also has a chunk out of it. There is a chunk out of the top cover of the book, near the spine. There is wear to the outside edges of the book, especially at the top and bottom of the spine area. The outside book pages look discolored. None of the pages in the book are loose. Clearly this book is not in optimum condition. Please note that I am not a vintage book dealer, but have described this book to the best of my ability. Please email if you would like more photos.
