The projects are scented using natural ingredients, such as flowers, herbs and spices, and essential oils. All the photographs in this book have exquisitely been taken on location, making this book a visual delight as well as a practical craft book.’ The inside book flap says ‘Making gifts for others is a pastime with huge rewards, and gifts scented with the natural aromas of herbs, flowers and spices bring a new dimension, allowing you to tailor-make your gifts with the person in mind. The projects throughout the book are simple to make, and additional diagrams appear at the back of the book to aid he completion of more complex designs. The various methods of scenting gifts are explained in the introduction, which also includes information on drying and preserving flowers and herbs for their scent, as well as using spices and aromatic essential oils. The book concludes with a glossary of essential oils, describing the scents, medicinal properties and possible uses for the most frequently used oils.’ The chapters in the book are as follows: Introduction, Ornamental Decorations, Fresh flower Gifts, Gifts for the Bedroom, Gifts for the Kitchen, Beauty and Health Gifts, Gifts for Gardeners, Gift Wrappings, Diagrams and Patterns, and Glossary of Essential Oils. Flipping through the book it does have a wide variety of interesting craft projects. There is a section for gifts for people who like gardening; which include an anti-insect lotion, and a gardener’s hand cream. The beauty and health gifts section has projects for scented sea shells and pebbles, and a relaxing bath mix, and an invigorating bath gel. The colognes projects are for old-fashioned lavender water, and rosewater and glycerine, orange and coriander cologne, and rose and vanilla cologne There is a soothing skin slave, and an apricot and marigold hand cream, as well as scented massage oil and rose and mint body scrub. The projects in the beauty and health gifts section look much simpler to make than other projects of this type I have seen in other books. There are projects for padded hangers and sachets. There is a project for a dried apple and eucalyptus ring, which looks like a small wreath. The gifts for the kitchen section has are recipes for savoury spiced nuts, and candied cardamom nuts, as well as flavoured vinegars, flavoured oils, and scented sugars. There is a recipe for mulled wine spice bags. The photographs are beautiful, and of very high quality, with vivid colors. This is a charming and unique book, with lots of interesting gift and craft projects. It is informative, and has wonderful photos. The book has 96 pages. The book itself is in excellent condition; however there is some light wear to the book cover, there is some very, very light scratching and some very minor creasing marks on the top front dust cover edge. There also is some light residue on the back of the book, where it looks as if a price tag was removed. I am not sure if the rest of the residue can be removed or not.
