The base of the decoration is two books, stacked on top of each other. Next to the snowman is a plastic candle with a bulb in it. The bulb at the top of the candle lights up when the cord is plugged in. This is a very cute decoration. I am not sure of the age of it. It does not look like it has been used much, if at all. It does look like it has a few dirt marks on it that needed to be cleaned off. There is a dirty area at the back of the snowman, which can be seen in the listing photograph. There are also some dirty areas on the electric cord. I am not sure how best to clean this item, so will leave it as is. I have a matching candle topper with this same theme listed, so please check my other listings if you are interested.
