Colclough Translucent Bone China Cup & Saucer

Issued in 1959 to celebrate the royal visit
to Canada in June of that year
by the young Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
 

The central design on each piece shows twin named oval portrait medallions
of the young Queen and her Consort set within the emblematic Canadian Maple leaf.
Also shown is the Royal Cipher of Queen Elizabeth II set within a laurel border
surmounted by The Imperial State Crown.

Both the cup and saucer have lobed and gilded rims.


The cup is 2 7/8" tall and the saucer is 5 1/2" in diameter.

The both the cup & saucer are backstamped:
"Colclough Bone China Made in England".



Both pieces are in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing.
